Senior Conference Producer, InsTech

Senior Conference Producer, InsTech

Full-Time On-site
Datos Insights

InsTech , a Datos Insights company, is a global insurance community and intelligence platform bringing together insurers, brokers, MGAs, technology and data providers, professional services firms and other industry leaders.

We build communities around the issues shaping insurance and bring them together through conferences, smaller events, advisory groups, research conversations, webinars and content. Our aim is not simply to run events, but to create valuable market conversations, relationships and insight that strengthen the wider InsTech community.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Conference Producer to play a leading role in building InsTech's market communities and producing conferences, events and content that bring those communities together.

Reporting to the Executive Principal, this person will work within InsTech’s agreed strategy and take senior responsibility for turning priority market themes into compelling programmes, strong industry networks and sustained engagement with senior market participants.

This is a senior, hands‑on role and is broader than traditional conference production.

The successful candidate will:

  • lead market and audience research;
  • build relationships and communities around priority themes;
  • develop high-quality programmes;
  • secure and manage senior speakers and advisers;
  • work actively across sales, marketing and events;
  • contribute to commercial performance;
  • and represent InsTech externally through research conversations, hosting and moderation.
  • Develop and maintain networks of senior practitioners, advisers, speakers, members and partners around agreed market themes.
  • Lead research conversations with insurers, brokers, MGAs, technology companies and other market participants to understand their priorities and emerging challenges.
  • Build relationships that extend beyond individual events and create reasons for people to remain engaged with InsTech throughout the year.
  • Support the development of advisory groups, councils and other community structures where appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities for market participants to contribute through events, research, surveys, webinars, podcasts, roundtables and content.
  • Bring new voices and perspectives into the InsTech network rather than relying solely on established speakers and organisations.
  • Capture and share relevant market insight across the wider InsTech team.
  • Lead programme development for an agreed portfolio of conferences, smaller events and virtual activity.
  • Translate market research into relevant, distinctive and commercially attractive agendas.
  • Ensure every programme has a clear audience, purpose and point of differentiation.
  • Develop engaging formats including panels, interviews, debates, presentations, workshops and audience-led discussions.
  • Exercise strong editorial judgement over topics, speakers and session structure.
  • Deliver agendas, speaker line-ups and briefing materials against agreed milestones.
  • Adapt quickly to changing market developments, speakers and priorities while maintaining programme quality.

Speaker and Stakeholder Management

  • Identify, approach and secure high-quality speakers, moderators, advisers and contributors.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior executives, subject-matter experts, clients and influential market participants.
  • Lead research and briefing calls and help contributors develop focused, engaging sessions.
  • Prepare moderator guides, briefing documents and question sets as required.
  • Manage senior stakeholders professionally and confidently.
  • Treat speakers and contributors as potential long-term members of the InsTech community rather than one-off participants.

Cross-functional Working

This role will work closely across marketing, sales and events throughout the event lifecycle. The role does not manage these functions but will be expected to influence effectively across them and play an active part in delivering shared outcomes.

The Senior Conference Producer will:

  • act as a key link between market research, programme development, marketing, commercial activity and event delivery;
  • ensure each team has a clear understanding of the audience, programme proposition and priorities;
  • provide timely speaker, programme and market updates;
  • participate actively in cross-functional planning meetings;
  • identify dependencies, risks and opportunities early;
  • and help balance editorial, commercial, marketing and operational requirements.

Marketing and Audience Development

  • Work with marketing from the early stages of programme development to define target audiences and positioning.
  • Translate programme content into clear reasons for different audiences to attend and engage.
  • Provide high-quality programme, speaker and market content for websites, brochures, emails and campaigns.
  • Review registrations and audience composition with marketing and identify gaps that require targeted outreach.
  • Activate speakers, advisers and community participants to extend campaign reach.
  • Help ensure the people attending each event reflect the intended target audience rather than focusing solely on delegate volume.

Commercial Contribution

  • Work closely with sales to ensure programmes support credible sponsorship, partnership and membership propositions.
  • Provide sales with market context, programme narratives, speaker updates and audience insight.
  • Participate in selected sponsor and partner conversations where detailed programme or market knowledge adds value.
  • Identify potential sponsors, partners and commercial opportunities arising from market research.
  • Understand the commercial objectives of the event portfolio and contribute to revenue, attendance and profitability targets.
  • Protect editorial credibility and audience trust when incorporating sponsors and commercial partners.

Event Delivery and External Representation

  • Work closely with the events team to ensure programmes can be delivered effectively and on time.
  • Take senior responsibility for the content experience on event days.
  • Brief speakers and moderators and manage programme changes as required.
  • Represent InsTech confidently in research meetings, industry conversations and live events.
  • Chair panels, conduct interviews and moderate discussions where appropriate.
  • Facilitate informed and engaging conversations rather than simply working through scripted questions.
  • Help connect relevant delegates, contributors and advisers during events.

Content and Continuous Engagement

  • Identify opportunities to extend event research into webinars, podcasts, articles, reports, surveys and other post-event content.
  • Use content and community activity to maintain engagement between major events.
  • Identify recurring market questions and emerging themes that merit further exploration.
  • Ensure valuable relationships and conversations continue after individual events.
  • Contribute to post-event evaluation and use feedback from delegates, sponsors, speakers, sales, marketing and events to improve future programmes.
  • 3-5 years' experience, or equivalent, in B2B conference production, business content, professional communities or a comparable role.
  • Strong experience researching complex markets and translating that research into compelling programmes.
  • Comfortable working in a very small and dynamic team, and willing to take on or participate in tasks outside of this role, when required.
  • A track record of securing and managing senior-level speakers and stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking capability.
  • Experience working collaboratively across sales, marketing and event-delivery teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong editorial judgement.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of sponsorship, delegate acquisition and event economics.
  • Excellent project-management and organisational skills.
  • Confidence working autonomously and managing several programmes and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Confidence hosting, interviewing or moderating, or the ability and appetite to develop this capability.
  • Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours when required for events.
  • Knowledge of insurance, the London Market, insurtech, financial services, technology or data.
  • Experience building professional communities or advisory networks.
  • Experience producing senior-level insurance or financial-services events.
  • Experience supporting sponsorship or partnership propositions.
  • Experience producing webinars, podcasts, reports or other content.
  • Experience mentoring junior producers or researchers.

What Success Looks Like

Success in the role will be measured by:

  • strong, relevant and distinctive event programmes;
  • delivery of research, agendas and speaker line-ups to agreed deadlines;
  • seniority and relevance of speakers and contributors;
  • growth and engagement of InsTech’s market communities;
  • depth and continuity of senior market relationships;
  • delegate quality, attendance and audience composition;
  • delegate, speaker and sponsor satisfaction;
  • effective collaboration with sales, marketing and events;
  • contribution to sponsorship, membership and event revenues;
  • and evidence that market insight is improving future InsTech activity.

This is an opportunity to take a senior role in building communities around some of the most important questions facing the insurance market. The role combines research, relationship building, editorial judgement, commercial thinking, community development and live events and would suit someone who wants to do more than simply produce conference agendas.

InsTech is committed to creating an inclusive working environment. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and will make reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.
