Job Purpose Statement
We are looking for a positive thinking and hardworking individual to join Datim Ltd, as a Management Accountant to be a key member of the busy and diverse finance department, providing support to the Finance Director. The role will be responsible for supporting the Finance Director with taking responsibility for core day-to-day finance tasks and purchase ledger, ensuring quality control over all financial transactions and reporting. You will have the opportunity to make a difference through your involvement in budgeting & forecasting, P&L & margin variance analysis, ERP & IT system developments and other ad hoc finance projects. Job specific training will be given to assist in developing in the above role, especially with the ERP system.

Key Accountabilities
- Acting as a key member of the Datim Limited Finance Department, working in conjunction with the existing Finance Director with responsibility for the core day-to-day finance tasks including Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations, cash flow, fixed asset records, accruals & prepayments and preparation of month end accounts.
- Maintenance of the purchase ledger daily ensuring invoices & credit notes are posted against purchase orders, to supplier accounts and payments allocated correctly to the creditors account.
- Prepare month end creditors reports and liaise internally and with suppliers to resolve queries and discrepancies ensuring all aged items are understood and cleared in a timely manner.
- Reconcile supplier statements to ledger.
- Daily bank reconciliations & posting of payments & receipts to the general ledger.
- Preparation of the month end accounts for 3 companies, starting with journal preparation and entry, maintenance and processing of accruals & prepayments, exporting data into the month end pack.
- Reviewing and documenting variance analysis with comparison to previous year, to budget and to forecast.
- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, review, and code all CAPEX and process the monthly depreciation journal to the general ledger ensuring all assets are reported appropriately in line with policies.
- To be responsible for the Quarterly VAT return process for 3 companies ensuring it is processed accurately and on-time with a full reconciliation undertaken prior to submission to HMRC.
- To work alongside the Project Managers to review contracts to ensure invoicing is accurate and up to date.
- Monitoring margins and closing down of complete orders.
- Dealing with the company credit card and employee expenses, collating receipts and posting them to the ledger.
- Provide cover and support for the Accounts receivable as and when required (holiday cover etc…)
- Any other ad-hoc duties required to support the Financial Director and the finance function, such as assisting in budgeting & audit process, ERP system developments.
Technical Competencies
- Experience in producing management accounts for SMEs.
- Knowledge of the Sage 200 System.
- Ability to use pivot tables and VLookups within Excel.
- Sound business & commercial judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
