We are looking for an Internal IT Technician to join our team.
Location: Warrington
As an Internal IT Technician, you will provide technical support to colleagues, resolving IT issues and maintaining devices, systems and user accounts across the business. On a daily basis you will be responsible for:
- Providing support for any laptop, printer, or mobile device issues
- Monitoring a support-based ticket system
- Supporting colleagues to resolve their issues
The role also requires supporting Windows OS systems including common applications support, hardware diagnosis and repair, and some SaaS & server management. You will also be required to train end users on the usage of computer hardware and software, build out supporting documentation, and ensure it is kept up to date. You will be the go-to person for onboarding, movers, and offboarding users, laptop configuration, setup, and refreshes. This role is office based at our Warrington office.
What To Bring
We’re looking for a personable problem solver capable of supporting end-users both in person and remotely. Someone who, along with a genuine curiosity to improve their technical knowledge and research new product capabilities, has some prior experience in a Modern Workplace, Technical Support, or similar role. You will have exposure to handling issues in M365, Windows OS, and basic knowledge in networking, system administration, and information security. You must have excellent communication skills, be able to deliver to deadlines, and be prepared to go the extra mile to exceed expectations. You should also be able to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
What We Offer In Return
Datel is a successful tech and services business that is here to help you achieve your full potential. Potential is more than just a word to us; it’s our purpose. We help our customers realise their ambitions through creative Sage solutions. Every member of the Datel team is encouraged to thrive by providing support and broad opportunities within an aspirational, accessible, inclusive, and progressive culture.
You’ll be joining a highly skilled and collaborative Internal IT team focused on quality and great customer service to our colleagues in a timely manner, working to find solutions that fit their requirements and contribute to Datel’s success. You’ll report into and work closely with the Business Systems Manager, Ben Midwinter, and collaborate with the rest of the Internal IT team, which is made up of two Internal IT Engineers, an Applications Consultant, and a CRM Consultant.
Success will be measured in your ability to work both independently and as part of a team, collaboration with others, and the support you provide to our end users. You will be required to provide support to all stakeholders within the business and collaborate with external vendors. We provide the infrastructure and hardware for our colleagues to support our customers and work effectively, both remotely and in the office.
We love to get together and have a calendar of social events to build connection and collaboration across the team. We also care about our community and work closely with Sage’s Foundation, offering charity and volunteering opportunities throughout the year.

How to prepare for a job interview at Datel Support
✨Brush Up on Your Technical Skills
For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.
✨Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach
IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.
✨Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions
When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.
✨Prepare for Behavioural Questions
Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
