Senior Design Manager – EMEA
I am looking to recruit a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager to work for a Global Data Centre operator.
You will primarily support projects in London but will also have input on projects across the wider EMEA region which will include a variety of new construction, phased expansion, upgrade and fitout projects.
The successful candidate will drive a multi-disciplinary design delivery process acting as the primary contact to external design vendors, liaising with various internal stakeholders and consulting with other members of the team to ensure best design decisions are made with careful assessment of risks and opportunities.
Your responsibilities
Design Delivery
- Drive/support end to end design delivery process starting from brief definition and internal alignment with various stakeholders, to appointment, management and review of external design vendors that carry out design work for projects
- Work in conjunction with associated Project Manager for each project to ensure design delivery is progressing in line with projects brief, agreed budget and programme
- Undertake and/or supervise design reviews to ensure compliance with company design standards, local code requirements and the project brief.
- Ensure regular reporting of progress against agreed plans to senior members of Design and Engineering and the associated project managers.
- Advise and ensure corrective action taken promptly to address any design issues
- Ensure quality and value for money received through third party appointments
- Develop and manage long term relationships with key third party design and equipment vendors
Your profile
- Experience in design of mission critical and/or similar hi-tech content M&E led industries, Ideally Data Centres.
- Experience working in the french construction, ideally with permitting experience
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary design teams, preferably in a leading role
- Experience in design consultant/client engineer/site engineer/contractor engineer roles
- International experience and outlook both in type of company (multi-national Consultant/Contractor/Operator) and project experience (have worked on projects outside home country, ideally have lived outside home country for a period)
