Senior PMO Manager - European Portfolio in London

Senior PMO Manager - European Portfolio in London

London Full-Time On-site
D

We’re looking for a Senior PMO Manager to take ownership of the day-to‑day running of a European PMO within a growing, private equity backed data centre business.

This is an opportunity for someone who understands how to bring structure, visibility and consistency to a portfolio of projects in a fast‑moving environment. Rather than building layers of governance and process for their own sake, the focus is on ensuring projects are progressing as planned, risks and dependencies are visible, issues are followed up and senior stakeholders have the information they need to make decisions.

The PMO is continuing to evolve, so this person will have the opportunity to shape how it operates, improve existing processes and introduce the right level of structure to support the business as it grows.

Reporting to the PMO Director, you’ll work across European functions and project teams, helping maintain oversight of the wider portfolio while enabling delivery teams to keep moving.

What you’ll be doing

  • Take ownership of the day-to‑day operation and ongoing development of the European PMO.
  • Maintain a clear view of portfolio progress, key milestones, risks, dependencies and potential delivery issues.
  • Ensure projects are progressing against agreed plans, with appropriate follow‑up where actions, decisions or interventions are needed.
  • Develop and improve practical PMO processes, reporting and ways of working that give the business meaningful visibility without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Bring consistency to portfolio information, helping senior stakeholders understand performance, priorities and areas requiring attention.
  • Lead portfolio review and stakeholder meetings, ensuring actions are clear, decisions are captured and outstanding issues are progressed.
  • Work closely with project and functional leads, building relationships and influencing outcomes without necessarily having direct authority over delivery teams.
  • Manage and develop the Data and Reporting Manager, ensuring portfolio information is accurate, useful and timely.
  • Support the rollout of processes across European operations as the business and its portfolio continue to develop.

What we’re looking for

We’re interested in people who combine PMO experience with a practical understanding of project or programme delivery. You’ll know how projects operate in reality and how to maintain oversight across a portfolio without needing to run every project yourself.

You’re likely to bring:

  • At least five years’ experience across PMO and project or programme management.
  • Experience supporting or overseeing a portfolio of complex projects, ideally within capital infrastructure, construction, engineering or another asset‑intensive environment.
  • The ability to track progress, identify emerging risks and dependencies, challenge assumptions and ensure actions are followed through.
  • Experience developing or improving PMO processes, reporting and portfolio‑level ways of working.

Experience within a private‑equity‑backed or similarly fast‑paced, commercially focused business would be particularly valuable. Data centre experience would also be an advantage, but it isn’t essential.

Why consider the role?

This is a chance to take a meaningful role in shaping a European PMO within an established data centre business operating in a dynamic environment.

You’ll have visibility across the portfolio, regular interaction with senior leadership and the opportunity to influence how projects are monitored and managed as the business continues to grow.
