We are currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a leading construction team delivering a flagship £230m new build data centre project in East London. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing project team on a major mission critical development, working on one of the most rapidly growing sectors within construction.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving site safety culture, ensuring compliance, and maintaining the highest standards across all phases of construction delivery.
Responsibilities- Lead all Health & Safety activities across the project
- Promote and drive a positive safety culture throughout the site team and supply chain
- Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation, company procedures, and client requirements
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are implemented effectively
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions where required
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and ongoing H&S training
- Work closely with project management, subcontractors, and client representatives
- Maintain accurate H&S records and reporting documentation
- Support project delivery whilst ensuring safety remains the number one priority
- Proven experience working as a Health & Safety Manager on major construction projects
- Previous experience within Data Centres, MEP, mission critical, or large-scale commercial construction preferred
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and construction compliance
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or Diploma
- IOSH Membership desirable
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Long-term pipeline of work within the Data Centre sector
