An established and rapidly scaling data centre platform is seeking a Head of Power to lead utility strategy and energisation across new and existing hyperscale campuses. This is a critical leadership role, owning power delivery from early-stage site selection through to executed grid connection agreements and energisation of large-scale data centre infrastructure (300MW–1GW+ programmes).
If you understand that in today's market power is the product, this role will resonate.
The Opportunity
You will sit at the centre of development, investment and commercial strategy — defining and delivering the organisation's power and energy road map to support aggressive growth targets across multiple jurisdictions. This role combines:
- Grid strategy
- Utility negotiation
- Energy commercialisation (PPAs, renewables, onsite generation)
- Large-scale infrastructure delivery
- Executive-level stakeholder management
You will work closely with Corporate Development, Site Acquisition, Construction, Operations and the C-Suite to ensure that power capacity, resilience and commercial structuring align with customer and investor expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the long-term power and energy strategy, aligning growth, ESG objectives and hyperscale customer requirements
- Lead early-stage power due diligence for new site acquisitions (grid availability, constraints, capacity risk)
- Own utility and regulatory engagement (TSOs/DSOs), securing capacity, connection agreements and commercial terms
- Manage the full utility connection lifecycle — from feasibility to executed agreements and energisation
- Oversee large-scale energisation programmes (c. 300MW–1GW), ensuring delivery to schedule and budget
- Drive resilience strategy and redundancy design to meet hyperscale SLAs
- Negotiate and structure PPAs and renewable solutions
- Monitor regulatory and policy developments across relevant markets
- Support Sales and Commercial teams during RFP processes and customer engagements
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems or similar
- 5+ years delivering large-scale power/energy infrastructure projects
- Deep understanding of grid operations, transmission planning and utility frameworks
- Experience negotiating PPAs and delivering multi-jurisdiction energy programmes
- Strong commercial acumen — able to balance technical, financial and regulatory drivers
- Proven leadership across complex, cross-functional environments
- Comfortable operating at executive level while still close to the technical detail
Why This Role?
Power constraints are defining hyperscale growth across Europe and beyond. This is an opportunity to shape how a platform secures, structures and commercialises power at scale — influencing site strategy, capital deployment and customer commitments. For the right individual, this is a career-defining role with visibility across investors, customers and executive leadership.
