Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Site Director in Leeds

Leeds Full-Time On-site
D

I'm working with a growing data centre developer on an opportunity for a hands-on EHS / HSE professional to join the site team on a major UK development.

This is a great opportunity to play a key role in maintaining high safety standards across an active construction project, working closely with site management, contractors and the wider project team to ensure works are delivered safely and in line with regulatory requirements.

The role

  • Carry out regular site inspections, safety walks and compliance audits, identifying risks and ensuring corrective actions are followed through.
  • Review RAMS and support the safe planning and delivery of construction activities.
  • Lead site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings, promoting a proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Work closely with contractors and subcontractors to maintain compliance with site procedures and legislation.
  • Support incident investigations, reporting and the implementation of preventative measures.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records and documentation.
  • Help drive a positive safety culture across the site, ensuring health, safety and environmental standards remain a priority throughout construction.

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a construction-site HSE / EHS or Health & Safety Advisor role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of construction health and safety, including CDM 2015.
  • Confidence engaging with contractors, subcontractors and site management teams.
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications, such as NEBOSH Construction or equivalent.
  • A proactive, practical approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Data centre experience would be advantageous, but experience on other complex construction projects will also be considered.

The opportunity

You'll be joining an established project team on a significant development, with the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to site safety and project delivery.

If you're an experienced construction HSE professional looking for your next opportunity, I'd welcome a confidential conversation.
