I'm working on an opportunity for a CSA Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join an established project team delivering a major data centre development in the UK.
This is a hands on, site based position supporting the commercial management of construction works and working closely with the existing delivery team. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a live construction environment and taking ownership of commercial activities across CSA packages.
The role
- Manage and support the commercial delivery of civil, structural and architectural construction packages.
- Monitor project costs, valuations, variations and financial reporting.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and commercial negotiations.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring issues are addressed proactively.
- Work closely with site management, project teams and subcontractors to support delivery against programme and budget.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and provide clear reporting on project performance.
The ideal background
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager or CSA Package Commercial Manager.
- Strong construction commercial experience, ideally with a main contractor or subcontractor.
- Knowledge of CSA packages and site-based commercial management.
- Experience managing subcontractors, variations, valuations and cost control.
- Data centre or other complex construction project experience would be advantageous.
This is a full-time, site-based opportunity, with contract and freelance arrangements also potentially available.
