DataX Connect are currently seeking a Global Head of Commissioning for a global leader within building hi-tech facilities. Manage and support our electrical commissioning teams across our global project fleet and ensure standardization in our approach. Ultimately providing our clients with reduced risk and predictable completion of their facility in line with the agreed program and ensuring absolute operational readiness of the mission critical systems. Electrical subject matter expert (SME) in mission critical systems commissioning and operation. Ability to interpret all design documentation and ensure the facility operates within the parameters outlined by the customer and design team. Ensure our teams are supported in alignment of testing and commissioning to our stringent safety requirements – especially PTW, SSOW and LOTO systems, etc. Able to define scope and provide clear direction to execute same to completion. Ensure project setup and execution framework is aligned to internal best practice. Planning, scheduling & tag forecasting Has the ability to offer comprehensive guidance to all stakeholders involved in the project regarding the commissioning process. This includes clearly communicating the expectations, roles, and responsibilities associated with commissioning. Whilst also ensuring that everyone is held accountable for their commitments, guaranteeing that all stakeholders are contributing effectively to the successful completion of the project. FWT management with a clear strategy and carry over work risk management. Able to provide a commissioning and completion strategy for each asset (L0-L6) from planning to handover. Implement strategies based on lean management principles. This involves streamlining processes, eliminating waste, and maximizing productivity to achieve the most efficient commissioning process. Ability to visualize, explain and manage the construction completions and pre-commissioning strategies execution to all stakeholders and influencing “buy-in” to ensure timely turnover to the start-up & commissioning teams. Organising electrical completion through technical validation workshops with all project stakeholders. Planning system completion boundaries, cabling completion techniques, commissioning package development and delivery. Agile approach to delivery – able to continue moving forward even when facing challenges during the commissioning process. Providing technical solutions. Involved in commissioning plan development to ensure project alignment to pre-agreed electrical commissioning strategies from technical validation phase. Ensuring all project deliverables are clearly aligned with customer requirements from the beginning and are in place prior to commencement. Work with all stakeholders (customer, internal team, engineering & design, vendors, contractors, CxA) to ensure all are contributing efficiently to the commissioning process and that the project is constantly moving forward. Manage the documentation process to ensure a robust foundation for commissioning from the outset. Ensuring specifications, OPR, CDE and technical submittal process is rigorously followed. Support project teams to deliver detailed packages of scope effectively and efficiently. Ability to plan completions from right to left with a clear end goal and strategy for delivery – from systems to areas. Set clear milestones and logical start-up sequences for equipment commissioning. Ensuring project team have required competency to deliver commissioning depending on project design. Co-ordinate and align with QA/QC team to ensure commissioning and quality program objectives are met. Data driven decision making – using the completion system to underpin our decisions by monitoring project health and risk closely. OFCI/CFCI – Vendor/contractor management and collaboration experience – ideally gained working with GC, MC, EPC, client. Ideally someone that can build a strong “working together” culture with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to explain and manage delivery completion expectations to construction teams and equal ability to step in and manage underperforming stakeholders. Technical Writing Expert (Scripts, load bank plans PQA plans, and other) – set out requirements, review and manage deliverables. Quality planning in conjunction with Quality Manager and project stakeholders to ensure understanding and adherence to project requirements and rework minimization from the outset – ensuring robust walkdown strategy and expectation planning. Hands-On experience and approach with a get it done attitude and ability to act with speed and provide clear decision making.
