Are you looking for a commercial role that offers breadth, strategic impact, and a way into the world of Data Centres? We’re partnered with an end-client that designs, builds, and operates its own data centres. As they continue scaling their portfolio across the UK and Europe, they are now hiring a Commercial Manager with responsibility spanning several major schemes at different stages of the lifecycle.
This role sits primarily on a flagship £500m+ UK development, while also supporting £100m+ projects in Europe.
What makes this opportunity stand out?
- You’ll be a key point of contact running the early stages of a large UK development whilst also providing oversight and leadership across two active European developments.
- No two weeks look the same. You will get exposure in all elements of Data Centre commercial management.
Early-stage to delivery involvement:
- From tenders and procurement through to build stages and operational handover, you’ll influence commercial strategy throughout the full lifecycle.
- Work directly with leadership, shape commercial decisions, and operate with the agility only an owner-operator in this stage can offer.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as the Commercial Manager for a £500m+ UK project and providing commercial oversight across both live and early stage DC projects across EMEA.
- Leading commercial strategy, cost control, budgeting, forecasting and procurement activities.
- Running tenders, negotiations and contract management, including working closely with lawyers and external advisers.
- Driving financial governance and ensuring commercial risk is managed appropriately across the portfolio.
- Supporting project teams through design, pre-construction and delivery phases.
- Building strong, influential relationships with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
Who we’re looking for:
- MRICS qualified with approx. 5+ years post-qualification experience.
- Strong commercial and cost management background.
- Experience running projects or major early-stage commercial work.
- Exposure to data centres is not required; candidates from complex technical commercial buildings, CSA construction, pharmaceutical, critical banking or similar environments are desired.
- Someone confident, credible and capable of operating autonomously in a fast-paced client-side setting.
Join an end-client investing heavily in expansion and delivery capability. Build a career in one of the fastest-growing global sectors.
If you’re ready to step into a commercial position with responsibility across some of the most exciting projects in the data centre industry, we’d love to hear from you.
