Job Summary
Pertain to a 12‑month time‑limited role within the Adult Social Care team in the Performance Research & Intelligence service (PRI) in Manchester.
The role supports the People team and reports to the Senior Data Officer.
Working hours: 35 hours per week.
Working style: Hybrid (remote and on‑site).
Interview method: in person.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high‑quality reports using SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
- Use SQL to extract data from a Data Warehouse.
- Present information in an organised and understandable manner to support stakeholders’ operational and strategic decisions.
- Interpret business requirements to produce reports or datasets within agreed deadlines and specifications.
- Work closely with stakeholders and external partners to plan work and upgrades of a Data Warehouse.
- Manage data pipelines that extract, transform and load data into a Data Warehouse.
- Manage submission of statutory data returns to central government on behalf of Adult Social Care.
- Configure databases to meet statutory return specifications.
- What We’re Looking For
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- High motivation, enthusiasm and assertiveness, demonstrating the Our Manchester behaviours.
- Strong ICT and data technical skills – SQL queries, data marts and data formatting.
- Experience developing performance and dashboard reports using Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau or similar.
- Ability to nurture strong relationships with team members, stakeholders and external partners.
- Interest in innovation and technology and willingness to learn new skills.
- Sound professional judgment and ability to handle competing priorities while maintaining Data Protection and information security guidelines.
- Experience working with service‑delivery teams and understanding how data supports services.
