Shape the data architecture behind a major transformation within a purpose-led organisation. This is a new and pivotal role for a commercially minded Data Architect who can engage across the business, influence senior stakeholders and design data models that support better services and outcomes.
The organisation currently operates an on-premises SQL environment with Tableau reporting. As part of its transformation journey, it plans to move towards Microsoft Fabric and Databricks.
What you'll be doing:
- Defining and evolving the data architecture and roadmap.
- Designing analytical, semantic and reporting data models.
- Creating data maps and data-flow documentation.
- Shaping the future migration from legacy systems to a modern data platform.
- Ensuring data is secure, accessible, reliable and effectively governed.
- Working closely with Data, Analytics, Infrastructure, Architecture and Security teams.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Data Architect with strong data modelling expertise.
- Strong SQL Server and data architecture experience.
- Experience working within Tableau reporting environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or similar modern cloud data platforms would be advantageous.
- A track record of supporting data transformation or migration programmes.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance value, cost and long-term sustainability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including at executive level.
This is an architecture and modelling role rather than a pure Data Engineering position. You'll combine strategic thinking with practical delivery, helping shape a data platform that makes a meaningful difference.
