Working with a leading consulting and technology organisation applying AI, advanced analytics and operational research to solve highly complex, real-world challenges across government, infrastructure, defence and commercial environments.

The role includes:

  • Delivering end-to-end data science solutions, from problem definition through to deployment
  • Combining AI, machine learning and optimisation techniques with traditional operational research methods
  • Building predictive, simulation and planning models that support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Working alongside engineering and platform teams across modern data environments
  • Translating complex technical outputs into clear commercial and operational insight
  • Delivering within agile, cross-functional teams on high-impact programmes

Tech environment: Python, SQL, R, Databricks, PySpark, GIS and geospatial tooling, optimisation frameworks, cloud platforms.

Looking for:

  • Degree or higher in Data Science, Mathematics, Operational Research, Physics, Engineering, Geography or similar quantitative discipline
  • Experience working with geospatial, spatial or location-based datasets
  • Strong grounding in modelling, optimisation, forecasting or advanced analytics
  • Interest in how AI can enhance traditional operational research approaches
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Confident communicator, able to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders
