This is an opportunity to work on genuinely challenging problems where analytics directly influences operational and strategic decision making.
The role:
- Delivering data science and analytical solutions from discovery through to deployment
- Applying AI, machine learning and optimisation techniques to solve complex operational challenges
- Developing predictive, simulation and scenario-planning models
- Working with large, complex and often geospatial datasets
- Partnering closely with engineering, platform and business teams across modern cloud environments
- Translating technical findings into clear, actionable insight for senior stakeholders
- Supporting delivery across agile, multidisciplinary programmes
Environment:
- Python, SQL, R
- Databricks, PySpark
- Cloud and modern data platforms
- GIS and geospatial analytics tooling
- Optimisation and simulation frameworks
Looking for:
- Background in Data Science, Operational Research, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Geography or another quantitative discipline
- Experience working with spatial, geospatial or location-based data
- Strong capability across modelling, forecasting, optimisation or advanced analytics
- Interest in combining AI techniques with traditional analytical and operational research approaches
- Strong problem-solving ability and commercial awareness
- Comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences
