You will be part of a high performing IT team responsible for maintaining, optimising, and scaling the mission critical systems that power a technology first business at the forefront of its industry.
Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining on site and off site servers
- Monitoring and supporting in house software applications
- Administering Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
- Managing and troubleshooting storage systems including NAS and iSCSI
- Providing expert support across the Microsoft Windows environment
- Applying strong problem solving techniques including working with the OSI model, DHCP scopes, and network addressing
- Troubleshooting connectivity issues such as resolving a PC with no internet access
- Supporting virtual environments and understanding virtual machine layers
Technical Experience
- System administration within a Microsoft Active Directory environment
- Group Policy management and configuration
- Virtualisation technologies, ideally Hyper V
- Experience managing storage systems including NAS and iSCSI
- Strong hardware knowledge including building or configuring custom machines
- Understanding of PC components, RAM compatibility, CPU Secure Boot, and common troubleshooting scenarios
- Knowledge of CPU generations for Intel and AMD
- Strong understanding of data size conversions and subnetting fundamentals, including byte and bit conversion and IP allocation
- Scripting using tools such as PowerShell
- Working knowledge of SQL, HTML, and general web technologies
- Exposure to Juniper networking is advantageous
- A collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for working in a high performance technical environment
- Strong numerate or analytical degree as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related subject, or equivalent practical experience
