An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast growing, digitally focused business that seamlessly connects thousands of buyers with hundreds of sellers. As the company continues to establish its unique identity, the data team is expanding and looking for a junior data scientist to join their dynamic environment.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in driving data-informed decision-making by working with diverse datasets, with a strong emphasis on uncovering customer behaviours and preferences.
Embedded within a small but dynamic team that values collaboration and mentorship, you’ll gain hands-on experience with Python and machine learning techniques building valuable skills while contributing to meaningful business insights.
Responsibilities:
- Assistant in Analysing large customer datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that support strategic decision-making.
- Help Build, maintain, and improve dashboards and reports to monitor key performance and customer-related metrics.
- Support with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Is detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Your experience and Skills:
- Strong performance with a numerical degree ideally mathematics or economics.
- Is eager to learn and grown into the field of data
- A basic proficiency in SQL for data extraction and querying would be useful.
- Ideally has experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Metabase would be beneficial.
- Articulate and confident communicator, skilled at conveying complex ideas with clarity and impact
