Working with a leading consulting and technology organisation applying AI, advanced analytics and operational research to solve highly complex, real-world challenges across government, infrastructure, defence and commercial environments.
The role includes:
- Delivering end-to-end data science solutions, from problem definition through to deployment
- Combining AI, machine learning and optimisation techniques with traditional operational research methods
- Building predictive, simulation and planning models that support operational and strategic decision-making
- Working alongside engineering and platform teams across modern data environments
- Translating complex technical outputs into clear commercial and operational insight
- Delivering within agile, cross-functional teams on high-impact programmes
Tech environment: Python, SQL, R, Databricks, PySpark, GIS and geospatial tooling, optimisation frameworks, cloud platforms.
Looking for:
- Degree or higher in Data Science, Mathematics, Operational Research, Physics, Engineering, Geography or similar quantitative discipline
- Experience working with geospatial, spatial or location-based datasets
- Strong grounding in modelling, optimisation, forecasting or advanced analytics
- Interest in how AI can enhance traditional operational research approaches
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Confident communicator, able to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders
