We are looking for a commercially minded Pricing Discount Modelling Analyst to join a high-performing Consumer Pricing team within a major UK business. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping pricing and discounting strategy, helping drive acquisition, retention, profitability, and customer value through data-led insight and modelling.
Working within a fast-paced and highly competitive environment, you will support the development of innovative pricing solutions using customer behaviour analysis, forecasting, and market insight to improve trading performance and support strategic business decisions.
The Role
You will work closely with Pricing, Finance, Marketing, Insights, and Compliance teams to develop and monitor pricing models, optimise discounting strategies, and support commercial performance across the Consumer division. This role offers strong exposure across the business and the opportunity to influence key pricing decisions within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of pricing and discounting initiatives across the Consumer business
- Develop and maintain predictive models focused on customer behaviour, retention, and pricing optimisation
- Analyse competitor pricing and customer data to improve pricing performance
- Reconcile, validate, and process large datasets efficiently
- Monitor model performance and recommend improvements where needed
- Develop forecasting models and explain variances against budget and forecast
- Work collaboratively with implementation, compliance, finance, and marketing teams
- Ensure pricing activity aligns with FCA guidance and governance processes
Skills & Experience
- Experience within Pricing Analytics, Pricing Modelling, Discount Modelling, or a similar analytical role
- Background in Insurance, Financial Services, Banking, or another regulated environment beneficial
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a highly numerate mindset
- Must have experience with Python
- Experience with SQL, Snowflake, SAS, or similar coding tools
- Experience using Power BI or Tableau
- Exposure to R, Emblem, Radar, or other statistical modelling tools advantageous
- Understanding of pricing techniques such as GLMs/GBMs beneficial
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
