Our client are looking for a Systems Accountant to join a newly formed Process and Transformation team, supporting the implementation of SAP S/4HANA. This role will be key in ensuring financial data is accurate, organised and ready as the business transitions from its current system. Working with finance, IT and project teams across the organisation, you will support activities such as data migration, validation and data management to help ensure a smooth system transition. This is a great opportunity to be involved in a large transformation programme and play an important role in improving the organisation's finance systems and data quality. This is a hybrid role, with 3-4 days per week onsite in Essex.
Key responsibilities
- Support the migration of financial data from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, helping ensure the organisation is fully prepared for the system transition.
- Cleanse and standardise existing data, identifying and correcting errors or duplicate records to maintain accuracy.
- Analyse and map data from legacy systems into the new ERP environment, ensuring information is consistent, complete and reliable.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or inaccuracies within financial data to maintain system integrity.
- Document data cleansing activities, testing results and any issues identified during the migration process.
- Maintain and monitor finance master data, ensuring information is accurate and transferred correctly between systems.
- Work closely with finance, IT and project teams to support the migration and ensure compliance with financial and accounting standards.
Skills & experience
- Experience working with finance systems implementations or in a Systems Accountant / Finance Systems role.
- Experience supporting data cleansing, data migration, or data management activities within finance or ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately when handling large datasets.
- A strong focus on data accuracy and delivering high‑quality work.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify errors or inconsistencies in data.
- Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively and meet project deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, with experience using PowerPoint and Word for reporting and documentation.
Additional desirable skills
- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA, ideally supporting finance systems or transformation projects.
- Experience operating within a matrix organisation, collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, particularly within finance or enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse large datasets, identifying patterns, trends, and potential errors to support data accuracy.
