Introduction

Our client is a well-established, mid-sized consultancy that delivers infrastructure support across both on-premise and cloud-based environments. They are now looking for a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to take on a hands-on role in building, maintaining, and supporting clients' core systems and networks. You'll work across servers, cloud platforms, networking, and automation tools, ensuring infrastructure is secure, scalable, and consistently high-performing.

Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with 4 days on site per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Build, deploy, and support both physical and virtual server environments.
  • Oversee cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including hybrid infrastructure.
  • Manage core networking components such as firewalls, VPNs, switches, routing, and load balancing.
  • Maintain identity and access management, ensuring robust security standards are upheld.
  • Streamline operations by automating routine tasks using scripting or configuration tools.
  • Set up and manage monitoring and alerting to optimise system performance and uptime.
  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and wider business continuity planning.
  • Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure issues, carrying out root cause analysis.
  • Work closely with DevOps, security, and development teams to deliver projects and improvements.
