Our client are a medium sized consultancy looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who specialises in Windows servers. You will be responsible for the design, build and integration of the organisations on premise IT Infrastructure. You will also be producing high and low level design documents and build guides.
Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with 3-4 days per week on site in North London.
Key responsibilities- Design, build, and deploy Windows Server and Desktop environments, including operating system imaging and automation using tools such as MDT and SCCM.
- Lead Windows Server OS upgrades and Active Directory domain migrations, ensuring minimal disruption and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Define, implement, and troubleshoot Microsoft Active Directory Group Policies to enforce security, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Implement and manage SAN storage solutions, including configuration, optimization, and data/system migrations.
- Deploy, maintain, and support VMware infrastructure, ensuring availability, performance, and scalability.
- Integrate infrastructure with enterprise support systems including monitoring platforms, patch management solutions, and anti-virus technologies.
- Develop and enforce hardened build standards, leveraging vulnerability assessment and compliance scanning tools to maintain secure environments.
- Identify, analyse, and remediate security threats and vulnerabilities, applying mitigation strategies in line with best practices.
- Produce high-level and low-level technical design documentation, build guides, and operational procedures to support delivery and ongoing support.
- Executing against project technical roadmap and delivery plan.
- Desktop OS build and client device deployment.
- Windows Server OS builds within on-site virtual infrastructure.
