Our client is looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner with experience in bids and project accounting to join their team! You will have experience within Government, Defence, Public Sector or similar, providing daily, weekly and monthly management accounting duties including bid reviews, reporting, budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.

Working Patterns

This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week on site. Adhoc travel to Cheltenham, London and Hampshire will be involved.

Key responsibilities

  • Work across the business to provide pricing and bid support to bid/project managers.
  • Oversee the creation and integrity of bid models.
  • Review the finances for the projects in delivery, working closely with project support teams and managers.
  • Ensure all costs attributed to the delivery of contracts are captured accurately.
  • Ensure complete forecasts are reviewed and captured accurately, using the corporate project toolsets available.
  • Produce month end predictions, accruals, prepayments, overhead reviews, cash flow forecasting, major project analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Produce month end financial performance, commentaries, and exceptions analysis.
  • Deliver quarterly performance expectations, forecasts and annual budget cycle.
  • Internal audit requests.
  • Provide support to ad hoc projects.

Skills & experience

  • Experience working on bids/project finance.
  • A part qualified/newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Business partnering experience.
  • Oracle experience is desirable.
  • IT literate, with strong Excel skills (to advanced level including pivot tables, look-ups and macros).
  • Power BI knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Analytical with an enquiring mind.
