Introduction
You will be responsible for leading and coordinating change management activity across a live Defence programme, acting as the focal point between internal teams, delivery partners and stakeholders. The programme is entering a critical phase with additional suppliers joining the landscape, so strong governance, communication and stakeholder alignment will be key. You will develop and manage the required Change Management artefacts, ensuring compliance with Defence governance frameworks and programme delivery milestones. You will also oversee benefits tracking and business case alignment, helping ensure intended outcomes continue to be realised as the programme progresses. This is a visible role requiring someone who can balance governance discipline with practical delivery pace.

Working Patterns and location - Hybrid, 3 days per week on site

Key responsibilities

  • Lead change management activity across a complex Defence transformation programme
  • Create and maintain all required change artefacts, documentation and governance packs
  • Manage CMID / DLOD-related deliverables and associated programme outputs
  • Coordinate stakeholders across client teams, authority functions and external suppliers
  • Act as the communication bridge between live operational teams and delivery teams
  • Ensure programme managers have the change inputs needed to maintain momentum
  • Drive adoption planning, readiness assessments and transition coordination
  • Own benefits management activity, including tracking business case benefits realisation
  • Support senior governance forums with updates, reporting and decision papers
  • Identify delivery risks, dependencies and resistance to change, escalating where required

Skills & experience

  • Proven experience as a Change Manager on large-scale Government or Defence programmes
  • Strong understanding of structured change methodologies and governance controls
  • Experience producing formal change artefacts
