Introduction
Our client is a Defence organisation looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their team of 12 supporting projects within the Defence/Government sector.
This role supports a single source contract, so experience in this area would be a significant advantage! Project and bid experience within a business partnering role is essential.
Working Patterns: This role is based in Bristol, with 2 days per week in the office, and 3 days on busier occasions.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee major frameworks/projects, leading on financial compliance and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Handle operational and financial accounting regarding single source frameworks and major projects.
- Produce financial reporting in line with government guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, preparing and reviewing bids from a financial perspective, and reporting internally and externally.
- Work closely with clients, delivery, and operational managers to ensure robust accounting procedures are in place.
- Liaise with CAAS covering the annual audit of the SSRO rates.
- Advise Client Managers on strategic bids and assist in decision-making around growth areas.
- Manage the creation and integrity of bid models utilized across the division.
- Develop Project Accounting skills through training and on-the-job knowledge transfer.
- Undertake deep dive project reviews on an ad hoc basis to ensure compliance with group policies.
- Responsible for Research and Development tax credit reporting, PSA reporting, and audit coordination.
Skills & experience
- Experience in a similar Finance Business Partnering role is essential.
- Experience supporting projects and bids is essential.
- A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with post-qualified experience.
- Knowledge of single source regulations and reporting requirements would be beneficial.
- The role will require some travel.
- Well-developed commercial knowledge and business understanding.
- Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge.
- Comfortable working with project teams and all levels of stakeholders.
