Our client is a medium sized defence company looking for an experienced and hands on IT Support Engineer. You will be familiar with Microsoft 365 environments as well as having a basic understanding of scripting. This is a great opportunity if you are looking to progress into a cloud/Infrastructure environment!
Working Patterns: This role is based full time on site.
Key Responsibilities of an IT Support Engineer:
- Providing technical support on site or via remote access systems.
- Installing new software applications and training clients on proper application.
- Meeting with clients to diagnose software, networking or hardware issues.
- Offering solutions that meet the needs of the client.
- Providing first/second line support and troubleshooting desktop, laptop and other issues.
- Showcasing scripting knowledge for routine administration and automation.
Key Skills required for the IT Support Engineer:
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID).
- Familiarity with Azure fundamentals (virtual machines, networking, storage, resource management).
- Knowledge of endpoint management using Intune/Defender.
- Awareness of security and compliance tooling within the Microsoft ecosystem (Defender, Purview, Conditional Access).
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for routine administration and automation.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN).
- Ability to provide first/second-line support and troubleshoot desktop, laptop, and peripheral issues.
- Willingness to learn and work towards relevant Microsoft certifications (AZ-900, MS-900, SC-900).
