Our client is a large Consultancy company who are working with the Government and Defence sector on technology projects and are looking for a number of Business Analysts on a permanent basis to ensure optimised performance. This is a really exciting time to join our client's business as they take on more and more projects and programmes in the Defence/Government sector! You will need Defence/National security experience to be considered for this role.

Working Patterns

This role is hybrid with 2-3 days per week on site but candidates must be prepared to travel up to 4 days per week UK wide if required.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with clients within Defence and National Security to capture and document business requirements to ensure a clear understanding of their needs and objectives.
  • Perform detailed analysis of business processes, systems and data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate workshops and interviews to gather requirements, user stories and use cases.
  • Analyse and document business processes, workflows and system interactions to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories to ensure feasibility for development teams.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns and insights which can drive business decision-making and process improvements.
  • Define and implement product centric operating models.
  • Manage product ownership practices and processes, ensuring products developed meet the customer requirements.
  • Conduct impact assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate proposed solutions and identify potential risks.
  • Support testing and quality assurance activities, ensuring that solutions meet the defined requirements.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills & experience

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role within Defence, Government or National Security.
  • Have a strong track record of delivering business requirements within a project delivery environment.
  • Strong analytical skills within technology.
  • Experience with process modelling and lean practices, use case development and requirements elicitation.
  • Experience with Agile delivery and tools such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe 5.0, LeSS.
  • Consulting experience is a real bonus.
  • Knowledge of how PowerBI, Tableau, QlikSense or other analytical tools.
  • Expertise in how to test against requirements and ensure confidence in the outputs.
