Test Equipment Engineer β Fife or Essex β 12 Month contract Inside IR35 or Permanent β Β£60 β Β£70 per hour / Β£50,000 β Β£60,000 β SC Clearance or Wiling to Undergo SC Clearance
Our client is looking for experienced Engineers to design Test equipment for electronics in the Defence sector.
You will need experience with TestStand or LabView and have designed and developed Test Equipment in the past.
They have multiple positions available as they are incredibly busy at the moment
Working Patterns: Full time onsite in either office location. (Compressed hours available)
The Key Responsibilities of a Test Equipment Engineer:
- Design of functional test equipment for circuit cards, sub-assemblies and systems.
- Responsible for the design and overall quality of the test equipment.
- Provide leadership and guidance for junior engineers.
- Documentation of design specifications and implementation details.
- Take part in design reviews.
- Uphold of design standards and methodologies.
- Realisation of complex system requirements to provide robust and reliable test hardware solutions.
- Provide support to manufacturing answering product queries and resolving technical issues.
- Provide support for the test hardware and manage obsolescence throughout its lifecycle.
- Accountable for engineering specific risks and opportunities.
- Key contributor at Gate/Design reviews.
Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Test Equipment Engineer, however you will not be expected to have everything:
- Test Equipment Design experience for electronics.
- Knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design.
- Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation.
- Proven experience in the management of designs in production.
- Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills.
- Able to support/debug system integration.
- Use of Mentor Graphics schematic entry and PCB layout tools or similar.
- An understanding of common test architectures PXI/d LXI.
- Knowledge of NI LabView, NI CVI, NI TestStand or C#.
- Experience in the following would be useful: mix signal circuits, high speed network, RF, power supply.
