Technical Lead – Cheltenham – Permanent (37.5 hours per week) – £60,000 – £102,000 per annum – DV Clearance – Contracting options available
Our client are medium sized consultancy who are on the lookout for a skilled Technical Lead to guide and support the technical team in delivering solutions.
The ideal candidate will need hands on technical expertise as well as the ability to lead, monitor and influence the Technical Developers. You will also need to hold active security clearance.
Working Patterns: This role is based 5 days per week in Cheltenham
The Key Responsibilities of a Principal Software Developer:
- Act as the Technical Authority and think about long term strategic goals.
- Provide technical leadership and direction across the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate across multi disciplinary teams, and expertise’s, such as Service Leads, Business Analysts and Scrum Masters to ensure service is delivered to client standards.
- Guide the technical team to adopt and maintain best practice.
- Facilitate technical workshops, to solve complex challenges and outcomes.
- Engage with client side compliance, to ensure external requirements are embedded in the delivery plans.
- Hold excellent stakeholder relationships with the internal team, clients and non technical stakeholders.
Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Principal Software Developer role, however you will not be expected to have everything:
- Proven experience in a technical leadership role in a software engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of software development.
- Work closely across cross-functional teams
- Experience agile methods
- Excellent stakeholder management
- Lead through expertise rather than authority.
