Our client is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on AWS experience to build and lead secure cloud solutions for some of the most sensitive and critical infrastructure in the UK. You'll need a solid background in cloud security, infrastructure-as-code, and container-based deployments.

The Key Responsibilities of a Senior Cloud Engineer:
- Build and develop secure, highly available cloud-based solutions as part of an agile delivery team.
- Lead the design of cloud architecture and infrastructure solutions.
- Engage directly with customers to gather and understand their technical requirements.
- Work with support teams to enable management, monitoring and ongoing support of cloud systems.
- Provide third line support to live, deployed cloud-based solutions.
- Line manage and mentor junior engineers, supporting their professional development.
- Automate time-intensive processes to meet security and compliance objectives.
- Implement core infrastructure and security services within AWS to deliver scalable services.
Key Skills required for a Senior Cloud Engineer:
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services including compute and managed services.
- Experience in full-stack cloud development using Python, Node.js or similar languages.
- Proven experience delivering Kubernetes or AWS EKS container solutions.
- Experience managing infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security principles and compliance in secure environments.
- Experience with cloud migration projects, including planning and execution.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior engineers in a technical environment.
- Familiarity with CI/CD automation, orchestration and continuous deployment practices.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline tooling such as Jenkins.
- Experience automating management and maintenance tasks in complex cloud environments.
- Familiarity with micro-service and container-based deployment strategies and zero trust models.
- Experience migrating on-premises solutions to AWS.
- Exposure to other cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
