Our client is seeking an experienced Planner to support the delivery of a major programme based on-site in Wiltshire. The successful candidate will bring proven planning experience from sectors such as energy, manufacturing, logistics, or other complex project environments, alongside strong Primavera P6 expertise.
Working closely with the EPC Planner, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing project schedules, coordinating across multiple workstreams, and ensuring programme objectives remain on track. This is a fast-paced environment requiring someone who can quickly integrate into the team, take ownership of planning activities, and add value from day one.

Key Responsibilities of a Planner:
- Create, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 to support programme delivery.
- Track progress against key milestones, identifying potential risks, delays, and schedule impacts at an early stage.
- Ensure planning information remains accurate and up to date, supporting effective project reporting and decision-making.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project teams to capture progress and reflect changes within programme schedules.
- Analyse schedule performance, highlighting variances and contributing to the development of mitigation and recovery strategies.
- Produce look-ahead plans, milestone reports, and other planning outputs to support project execution.
- Provide planning expertise across multiple workstreams, helping to coordinate activities and maintain programme alignment within a complex EPC environment.
Key Skills required for a Planner:
- Demonstrable experience in a Planning role supporting complex engineering, infrastructure, or EPC project environments.
- Strong practical expertise in Primavera P6, including the development, maintenance, and optimisation of project schedules.
- Previous experience within energy, manufacturing, logistics, or similarly complex operational sectors.
- Sound understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies, and programme management best practices.
- Ability to work autonomously on-site, managing planning activities with minimal supervision.
- Proven track record of identifying, assessing, and communicating schedule risks, dependencies, and critical path impacts.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environments with multiple concurrent workstreams and evolving priorities.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
- Previous experience working within EPC project delivery and contract environments.
- Understanding of client reporting requirements, programme governance, and schedule assurance processes.
- Relevant planning qualification, such as APM, P3O, or an equivalent industry-recognised certification.
