Our client is looking for a Senior Project Controls Engineer with a strong emphasis on planning to join their growing Defence team in Bristol. You'll need solid experience with Primavera P6, earned value management, and project scheduling across the full project lifecycle. They're expanding fast due to growing client demand.
Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 3 days on site per week.
The Key Responsibilities of a Senior Project Controls Engineer:
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules aligned to overall project requirements.
- Develop project schedules collaboratively with project managers and the wider project team.
- Evaluate schedule progress and performance, identifying emerging problem areas early.
- Support project managers with timely and effective change management processes.
- Assist in producing clear status reports to keep management informed on project progress.
- Conduct recovery analysis and identify alternative courses of action on slipped schedules.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to schedule work and align resource assignments.
Key Skills required for a Senior Project Controls Engineer:
- Professional Project Controls experience specialising in Planning and Scheduling across the full project lifecycle.
- Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 and other planning and resourcing tools.
- Solid understanding and practical application of Earned Value Management techniques.
- Experience developing and maintaining complex project schedules in a Defence or infrastructure environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage across all levels of a project.
- Ability to identify schedule risk and drive recovery planning with project teams.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mobilise a team.
Additional Qualifications (not essential):
- Experience working with the NEC suite of contracts.
- Degree in a relevant technical or project management discipline.
- Membership of a professional body such as APM or PMI.
- Experience working across multiple sectors within the project controls discipline.
