Our client is growing their Data and AI Architecture team and is looking for a Senior Data Architect to work across some of the UK's most complex and ambitious government programmes. You'll need SC clearance and deep hands-on experience in enterprise data architecture, data governance, and AI strategy.
Working Patterns and location: Hybrid – 2-3 days on site per week
The Key Responsibilities of a Data Architect:
- Develop enterprise Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models conforming to national and international standards.
- Analyse existing client Data Architecture landscapes and define target state solutions.
- Provide Data Architecture oversight to ensure scalable, reliable and maintainable systems.
- Lead and mentor junior Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Modellers and AI Engineers.
- Lead and manage organisation-wide Data Governance activities and ensure policy adherence.
- Lead Data and AI Proof of Concepts, pilots and experiments for client engagements.
- Act as escalation point for Data Governance, Data Quality and Data Protection issues.
- Contribute to proposal writing, presentations and pre-sales activities to drive opportunity development.
Key Skills required for a Data Architect:
- Deep enterprise Data Architecture experience in industry or a consulting environment.
- Strong experience in data solution architecture including design principles, solution patterns and architecture methodologies.
- Expertise in Data Lake, Lakehouse and Data Mesh architecture.
- Proven ability to manage executive-level stakeholders and build strong client relationships.
- Strong data modelling experience across large, complex organisations including dimensional modelling and data vault.
- Expert knowledge of SQL databases with working knowledge of columnar, NoSQL, predictive analytics and data visualisation.
- Experience of Data Ontology including Data Catalogue, Data Dictionary and Data Lineage.
- Solid understanding of Data Governance principles and platforms such as Collibra and Informatica.
- Industry-recognised certifications such as DAMA CDMP, TOGAF or cloud platform certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with Observability and FinOps (Financial Operations) practices.
- Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements including GDPR.
- Experience of working across multiple deployment models including on-premises, public cloud, private cloud and hybrid.
