Our client is looking for an Associate Director to lead Digital Project Controls transformations across major Defence programmes. You'll need solid experience on large-scale capital programmes within the UK Defence sector, with a strong grasp of P3M methodologies and digital implementation. SC Clearance is essential.

Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 1 day on site per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess client challenges and define requirements within complex Defence delivery and assurance environments.
  • Implement and refine P3M methodologies, processes, data structures and tools aligned to Defence governance and acquisition lifecycles.
  • Direct technology suppliers and lead digital implementation teams within secure client environments.
  • Embed change across MoD organisations and Tier 1 partners through stakeholder engagement and business readiness support.
  • Produce high-quality documents, reports and deliverables to support findings and recommendations at each stage of client engagements.
  • Contribute to business development activities including bids, proposals and senior management collaboration.
  • Work across multi-disciplinary teams representing our client at both client sites and virtually.
  • Continuously improve advisory service quality and support internal knowledge-building initiatives.

Key Skills:

  • Experience delivering major capital programmes or large portfolios in the UK Defence sector.
  • Strong knowledge of P3M methodologies including project controls, scheduling, cost, risk and performance reporting.
  • Experience specifying or implementing digital project controls or P3M technology solutions.
  • Understanding of Defence acquisition processes such as CADMID/CADMIT and associated governance frameworks.
  • Experience defining project structures that integrate asset information, schedule, cost, resource and risk data.
  • Proven ability to work within secure or regulated Defence environments.
  • Experience translating client methodologies into supply chain requirements and contract scope.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across both client and supplier organisations.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with MoD organisations and/or Tier 1 Defence suppliers in a consultancy capacity.
  • APM, PMI or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience establishing or transforming project ways of working across enterprise functions such as commercial, finance or information management.
  • Experience supporting business capability establishment or organisational change programmes.
  • Graduate-level qualification in a relevant discipline.
