Key Account Director at Datasource Recruitment
Cheshire – this is a hybrid role with weekly/every other week onsite presence for 1-2 days.

My client is a large defence and aerospace consultancy who are a prime contractor to the Ministry of Defence and working on Aerospace projects.
They are looking for an experienced Configuration Manager to take responsibility for planning, developing, and maintaining both hardware and software across a new system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support rollout of a new configuration management toolset, acting as the superuser for projects.
- Manage the Configuration and Data Management Engineers.
- Lead the delivery of the configuration and data management service, ensuring we manage design change effectively and deliver data to our internal and external customers.
- Development of the Configuration Management tool sets, e.g., PLM and data sharing tools.
- Create, maintain, and develop Configuration and Data Management Plans and Processes.
- Manage the Configuration Control Boards to control the establishment and subsequent change of configuration baselines.
- Perform document control and data management.
- Ensure historical build data is stored and maintained in accordance with CM and DM plans.
- Be prepared, willing and able to perform hands on data processing in Configuration toolsets.
- Maintain programme alignment by establishing communications with all programme personnel.
- Ensure that CM and DM audits are undertaken.
Key Skills:
- Experience working on Defence and/or Aerospace projects.
- Ability to effectively influence, interface and communicate with multiple levels of management and colleagues in other engineering disciplines.
- Knowledge of PLM/PDM toolsets.
- Experience in the ability to manage a complex CMDM task involving multiple systems with multiple user and customer interfaces at all levels.
- Experience of providing CM and DM solutions satisfying all aspects of the Design Engineering Life Cycle and beyond into Service Support.
