About My Client

They are a small, ambitious indie team gearing up to launch their next title. With corporate branding and their website going live this week, they are ready to hit the ground running—and they need a talented programmer to help bring their vision to life.

This is a rare opportunity to be the sole programmer on a tightly-knit team, meaning you'll have real ownership, creative input, and the chance to shape the technical direction of the project from the ground up.

The Role

I am looking for a mid-level programmer who thrives in a hands-on, execution-focused environment. You'll be our go-to developer, responsible for building core systems, solving gameplay challenges, and collaborating closely with design and art to bring the game to life. This is not a management role—it’s for someone who loves to build, iterate, and ship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain gameplay systems, tools, and pipelines
  • Collaborate with designers and artists to implement features and mechanics
  • Optimize performance across platforms
  • Own the codebase and ensure stability and scalability
  • Rapidly prototype and iterate based on team feedback
  • Contribute to technical planning and architecture decisions

Requirements

  • Proven experience shipping at least one indie AA title (ideally two), or mainstream AA/AAA game
  • Strong proficiency in C++, Unity, or Unreal Engine
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across disciplines

Work Setup

  • Hybrid model: 1–2 days per week hot-desking or office-based (flexible)
  • Fully remote: First 6–8 weeks; long-term remote possible for top-tier candidates
  • Immediate start: We’re ready to go—just waiting for the right person
