We’re looking for a hands-on Solutions Architect with strong experience in .NET and modern identity platforms, particularly Microsoft Entra. You’ll be comfortable designing secure, scalable solutions on Azure and confident working across identity patterns using Entra ID and Entra External ID (Azure AD B2C). You enjoy working closely with engineers, product and security teams, and you know how to translate complex requirements into clear, pragmatic architectures that teams can deliver.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own solution architecture for customer-facing and internal applications built on .NET Core and React.
- Design identity & access architectures using Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD B2C / Entra External ID, including user flows/custom policies, B2B/B2C patterns, MFA.
- Facilitate federated access, allowing 3rd parties to log into our systems using their own security providers.
- Create high-quality artifacts - solution diagrams, sequence diagrams and data models.
- Collaborate - work closely with other architects, as well as tech and product teams.
- AI tooling knowledge - an interest in AI developer productivity tooling, and an understanding on how to embed AI into software.
At Datapharm, we run the electronic medicines compendium (emc) - a trusted platform used by healthcare professionals and patients to access accurate, regulator-approved medicines information. In this role, you’ll help shape the architecture behind a platform that really matters, leading solution design across new initiatives and modernisation work. You’ll play a key role in strengthening how users securely access our systems, influencing identity and access design at the heart of our platform. Your work will help ensure our services remain reliable, secure and scalable as we continue to evolve and grow.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Proven experience delivering at least one full lifecycle B2B SaaS product - from ideation to user adoption.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to prioritise roadmap features based on ROI analysis.
- Data-driven decision-making skills, using qualitative and quantitative insights to guide choices.
- Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate the ‘why’ behind decisions to senior stakeholders and team members.
- A bias for action - pragmatic, resourceful, and proactive, thriving on solving complex problems.
Behaviours and Attributes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to break down complex technical challenges.
- Clear, confident communicator who works well across engineering, product and security teams.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments.
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused, with a pragmatic approach to delivery.
- Proactive and curious mindset, with an interest in learning and emerging technologies.
- Adaptable and resilient, able to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Relevant Experience & Qualifications
- Expert-level experience with C# and .NET Core.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, including modern identity and access patterns.
- Strong experience designing Azure-based web application architectures.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps and modern CI/CD practices.
- Solid understanding of RBAC, user management, and identity-driven access control.
- Experience using Microsoft Graph API and managing App Registrations.
- Strong grounding in software engineering and cloud-native design patterns.
- Ability to produce clear, high-quality technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
- Experience with SQL Server and document databases.
- Awareness of or interest in AI-enabled developer tooling (including MCP servers).
- Experience working in healthcare or other regulated environments is beneficial.
