We provide a wide variety of integrated design and production services that are tailored to the various needs of our customers. Our services encompass conceptual design, PCBA layout, fast turnaround NPI, production and testing of PCBAs, and final product assembly, with a focus on low to medium volume, high mix product profiles for a variety of sectors. Datalink Electronics Ltd offers a single service (one off production) or a full turnkey solution where we can manage the entire supply chain end to end while offering engineering support throughout the products lifecycle using cutting-edge systems.
Role Description: The Buyer will play a key role in supporting production by sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply of materials and components within a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure continuity of supply, manage lead times and mitigate risk across the supply chain. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Managing supplier relationships
- Raising and reviewing purchase orders via the MRP system
- Analysing demand and purchasing trends
- Monitoring inventory levels
- Driving cost efficiency
The role will also involve ensuring materials meet quality requirements and that procurement activity aligns with internal processes and industry standards.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Organised, proactive and hands-on with a practical approach to problem-solving
- Confident communicating with suppliers and internal teams, including production and engineering
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing or electronics environment
- Able to quickly understand BOMs, lead times and material planning requirements
- Experienced in MRP-driven purchasing, planning, stock control or a similar operational role within manufacturing
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Loughborough. The role is initially offered as a 6-month temporary contract, with the potential for longer-term opportunity for the right person.
