What the role involves:

As a Business Analyst at IOG, you will be asked to help design, test and refine governance models for decentralized projects. This includes applying systems thinking, process design and data analysis to help define the actors and elements of a governance system, governance decisions, and processes to arrive at decisions. In this role, you must be able to apply theory to reality to successfully implement governance models.

Based on the cross-functional nature of decentralized governance projects, you must have a collaborative spirit and a commitment to understanding the business, legal, human and technical elements of the projects.

  • Working with other governance experts, lawyers, product managers, and software developers to learn from and support developing a governance framework.
  • Define the processes (on and off-chain) necessary to implement the defined governance framework.
  • Collaborate with product managers to define user needs for tooling within the governance processes
  • Apply user research methodologies to improve governance processes
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze and understand the success of the governance model and where improvements are needed
  • Maintain documentation of the governance framework, processes and supporting analysis
  • Contribute to developing a repeatable model to define and implement decentralized governance models.
  • Organize data to generate a long-term repository to learn across different governance projects
  • Contribute to delivering workshops, user research, and governance experiments

Requirements

Who you are:

  • Demonstrable minimum 3+ year of Business process /systems design experience
  • Business or engineering degree
  • Political science background or relevant experience in corporate/local/state/national/Web3 governance
  • Familiarity with software development projects
  • Background in or aptitude to learn user research or similar methodologies
  • Experience analyzing data to solve business problems
  • Experienced using basic Office software (process flows, diagrams, docs, sheets, slides)
  • Demonstrates a natural curiosity and commitment to ongoing learning, especially in emerging governance models
  • Technically literate with the ability to understand and think in systems, while effectively communicating at the right level of detail for different stakeholders
  • Collaborative and proactive in working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in complex and evolving environments; able to navigate uncertainty and synthesize clarity from ambiguity
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to break down complex problems
  • Adept at maintaining alignment across many global stakeholders
