We are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor (UK & EMEA) to join our team. This role will support DPI projects – primarily within large‑scale data‑centre environments – by providing visible, proactive H&S leadership across the UK and EMEA regions. You will ensure compliance with national and local regulations, client requirements, and DPI’s own H&S mission: “Health is our Mission, Safety is Critical.”
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide strong, visible H&S leadership across UK and EMEA project sites in line with DPI’s cultural principles.
- Promote and embed DPI’s H&S mission and wellbeing values across all operational environments.
- Foster a positive safety culture through continual engagement and workforce interaction.
- Maintain continuous on‑site visibility to assess safety conditions, behaviours, and adherence to safe systems of work.
- Ensure compliance with all local, national, and regional HSE legislation across the UK and EMEA jurisdictions.
- Oversee contractor compliance and performance to ensure robust safety management throughout the supply chain.
- Conduct hazard identification, risk analysis and evaluation activities on active construction and data‑centre installation sites.
- Review, assess, and approve contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure suitability and sufficiency.
- Develop, implement, and maintain H&S policies, procedures, and working practices aligned with evolving legislation and industry best practice.
- Share knowledge on new regulations and standards to raise competence across the organisation.
- Deliver and support H&S inductions, toolbox talks, briefings and job‑specific safety training.
- Verify that all employee and contractor training records and certifications are current.
- Lead or assist in incident, accident, and near‑miss investigations and ensure corrective action plans are implemented.
- Contribute to emergency response planning and preparedness across project sites.
- Maintain accurate H&S documentation, site records, inspection reports, and statutory logs.
- Provide regular updates to H&S leadership (e.g., H&S Directors for UK & EMEA) and project managers on safety performance.
- Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
- Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures.
Essential Skills and Experience
- NEBOSH Diploma or working towards.
- Desired membership of a professional body IOSH / IIRSM.
- 3 to 8 years of experience.
- Demonstrable experience within construction, M&E, or data‑centre project environments—noted as highly relevant across DPI’s H&S team.
- Strong understanding of UK and EMEA H&S legislative frameworks (e.g., CDM, EU directives, local regulations).
- Experience in monitoring on‑site activities, performing audits, and engaging operatives to drive safe working practices.
- Proven ability to develop and implement H&S policies and risk‑control systems.
- Competence in delivering safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
