We are seeking a Commercial and Financial Support Manager to join our team.

This role plays a critical leadership role in supporting the commercial and financial operations of Datalec Precision Installations (DPI).

The role is responsible for providing strategic financial insight, strengthening commercial performance, ensuring robust financial controls, and driving process improvements across the business.

Working closely with operational, project, commercial, and finance teams, the post-holder will support business planning, financial reporting, cash flow management, and ERP optimisation whilst ensuring alignment with the Group’s financial objectives.

The role will also provide leadership, guidance, and performance management to the Accounts Receivable Manager and support the development of a high‑performing finance function.

The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with financial expertise to support decision‑making, improve profitability, and enhance operational efficiency across multiple business entities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial analysis, commercial insight, and performance reporting to support business planning, profitability, and decision‑making.
  • Partner with operational, project, commercial, and finance teams to monitor KPIs, identify risks and opportunities, and improve financial outcomes.
  • Support budgets, forecasts, cash flow management, financial reporting, month‑end and year‑end close activities, and statutory audit requirements.
  • Oversee financial controls, governance, compliance, credit control, debtor management, and accurate reporting across group entities.
  • Manage and develop the Accounts Receivable Manager, supporting resolution of complex billing, collection, and customer account matters.
  • Support the ongoing development, optimisation, adoption, and reporting capability of Microsoft Business Central and related ERP processes.
  • Lead finance process improvements, transformation initiatives, automation, and standardisation to enhance efficiency and consistency.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships, present financial information clearly, and act as a trusted business partner.
  • Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
  • Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Professional accounting qualification or part‑qualified with significant relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in senior commercial finance, financial management, or business partnering within a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong financial management, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, controls, and ERP experience, ideally Microsoft Business Central or Navision.
  • Experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure, data centres, project accounting, contract financial management, ERP implementation, or finance transformation.
  • Proven people management experience, preferably across Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or transactional finance.
  • Excellent analytical, commercial, communication, stakeholder management, Excel, and financial reporting skills.
  • Able to prioritise effectively, manage multiple deadlines, and perform well under pressure.
