About The Role
We are looking for a handsâon Engineering Manager to build and guide a new squad within the Cloud Engineering team. You will take the lead of a team of engineers, collaborating closely with SRE, Product, and Ops/Analytics to align technical decisions with business value. Your focus will be on balancing leading from the front with team scalability, establishing engineering standards, and driving the delivery of Cloud features.
What Youâll Do
- Technical Leadership: You will focus on highâleverage contributions: architecture design, complex code reviews, paying down technical debt, and prototyping. You ensure the technical implementations match our longâterm vision and business goals.
- Team Building & Growth: You will handle recruitment, onboarding, and the career development of your team. You will be responsible for their performance reviews and growth plans.
- Active Technical Contribution: You will maintain a presence in the codebase by working on nonâcritical path features and chores. You ensure the team has the right technical foundation to move fast.
- Delivery Management: You will collaborate with Product to translate roadmaps into features, while consistently driving for an ambitious yet sustainable team velocity.
- CrossâFunctional Influence: You will act as a key stakeholder in the Cloud organization, collaborating with SRE, Product, and other Engineering Managers to build the roadmap.
Who You Are
- Technical Leadership and Vision: You possess a good understanding of distributed systems (Python/K8s/Vue.js). You excel at breaking down product requirements into scalable technical plans. You can guide the team through complex architectural tradeâoffs.
- People Leadership: You have successfully mentored engineers and provided constructive feedback that helped others grow. You prioritize the team's collective success over your individual contributions.
- Organizational Awareness: You know how to navigate crossâteam relationships to unblock your team. You frame technical decisions in terms of business value and are comfortable aligning your team's roadmap with broader initiatives.
Technical Stack
- Core Backend: Python, PostgreSQL.
- Frontend: TypeScript, Vue.js.
- Infrastructure: Kubernetes (k8s), AWS.
- Observability: Grafana, Prometheus.
- Dataiku DSS: You will be orchestrating Dataiku DSS instances, so familiarity with data platforms is a plus.
At Dataiku, youâll be part of a journey to shape the everâevolving world of AI. Weâre not just building a product; weâre crafting the future of AI. If youâre ready to make a significant impact in a company that values innovation, collaboration, and your personal growth, we canât wait to welcome you to Dataiku!
