An experienced Finance Manager / Head of Finance to take ownership of all aspects of financial management, strategy, and compliance. You'll support the CEO and Board with accurate, actionable insights that drive growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and manage the annual audit process.
  • Oversee compliance with Charity Commission, HMRC, and Companies House requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records in Xero, ensuring correct allocation of restricted and unrestricted funds.
  • Manage cash flow, payroll, and Gift Aid submissions.
  • Partner with fundraising teams to reconcile donations and strengthen financial systems.
  • Present financial performance updates to senior leadership and the Board.

About you

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of charity accounting (SORP) and reporting requirements.
  • Experience with Xero and ideally Donorfy or similar CRM integrations.
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
  • Confident communicator able to translate financial data for non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail‑oriented.
  • Motivated by purpose and the opportunity to make a tangible social impact.
