Datacenter People is working with a leading Data Center commissioning firm to hire Commissioning Engineers for their London projects. This position will require weekend work.

What the Job Involves...

  • Provide engineering and technical support to plan, schedule, coordinate and execute full life cycle commissioning of critical facilities.
  • Participate in the MEP design process.
  • Witness the static and dynamic testing of complex mechanical systems.
  • Perform Test Procedures.
  • Prepare meeting minutes.
  • Interact with contractors, interpreting design and specifications.
  • Conduct site observation surveys and prepare field reports on the status of projects and completion of projects with respect to compliance to the plans and specifications.
  • Prepare punch list reports and determine corrective measures for on-site problems.
  • Prepare general condition survey reports.
  • Familiarise oneself with codes, local project regulations, construction practices and the latest equipment functional concepts.
  • Obey all the project's safety requirements including specific on-site regulations.
  • Perform routine calculations.
  • Act as project coordinator with other field engineers, coordinating printing, presentation and administration procedures.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals.

We're Looking for Someone Who...

  • Is available and flexible to work weekends.
  • Has experience of commissioning mechanical or electrical systems within data centers.
  • Is able to determine and interpret data from various sources such as external PQM waveforms, data logs etc.
  • Is able to determine pass/fail criteria.
  • Is conversant in data center topologies across varied designs: N+1, N+2, 2N etc.
  • Has fault finding/trouble-shooting knowledge of various integrated systems such as HVAC/chillers/CRAC units.
  • Is able to interpret overall design intent of integrated systems and advise on various operational aspects to ensure the system will perform correctly.
  • Has working knowledge of network and communications – Modbus/ethernet, SCADA systems etc.
  • Has an understanding of data center commissioning levels and the requirements to move from level-to-level.
  • Has knowledge of scheduling/planning/reporting.
