Datacenter People is a specialized recruitment company working with a Global Power and Cooling Infrastructure organisation looking to add a Category Manager for Critical Power to their team. As the Category Manager for Critical Power, your mission is to position the business as a market leader in power distribution for data centers across Europe. Through a strategic blend of market intelligence, sales analysis, and product lifecycle management, you will identify growth levers, support competitive pricing strategies, and ensure successful market introductions. In close collaboration with local and corporate teams, you will help shape future-ready solutions that address the evolving needs of customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding and documenting the market by conducting analysis through desk research, company front office and back office employees feedbacks, customer visits, relationship with analysts
- Analysing performance and proposing action plans
- Interfacing with stakeholders - Developing product, service, cost requirement brief as well as following up the development process
- Preparing the launch along with following up after its deployment
- Support front office organisation - Preparing product launches, Supporting communication team to create launch tools, Training set up both online and offline, Make sure processes are in place, Participate to the continuous promotion of the category (helping teams presenting at events etc)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Electrical Engineer
- Understanding of critical infrastructure and equipment such as switchgear/busbar/transformers
- Proven technical/sales experience in power distribution industry (manufacturer, consultant, installer)
- Experience managing cross-functional projects, product launches, or go-to-market strategies
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with sales, marketing, supply chain, and manufacturing teams
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management and an ability to translate technical insights into commercial strategies
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel within Europe as needed
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Fluent in English; knowledge of additional European languages desirable
