We are looking to recruit a Head of Network Professional Services for a leading network consultancy and managed services provider. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for setting technical direction, overseeing delivery quality, and leading a high-performing Professional Services engineering function. The role plays a critical part in ensuring complex customer solutions are designed, delivered, and transitioned to support to the highest possible standards.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical credibility with the ability to lead, mentor, and scale an engineering team in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities- Define and execute the Professional Services engineering strategy, aligned to customer needs and business growth
- Own technical standards, solution design quality, and delivery governance across all projects
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to agreed technical and security standards
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex customer issues
- Build, lead, and develop a multi-skilled engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability and technical excellence
- Oversee skills development, training plans, and performance management
- Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and delivery methodologies
- Work closely with Pre-Sales to translate customer requirements into robust, commercially viable solutions
- Partner with Support teams to ensure smooth handover, documentation, and long-term service stability
- Act as a senior technical advisor in customer engagements, design workshops, and solution demonstrations
- Significant experience in a senior technical leadership role within a network consultancy, MSP, or systems integrator
- Strong hands-on background in enterprise networking technologies (routing, switching, wireless, security, UC)
- Cisco certified to CCNP level or higher
- Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams
- Strong understanding of networking best practice, performance, reliability, and security
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with customers and senior stakeholders
- Strong organisational, people management, and delivery skills
