Are you an experienced Transport Planner with a background in heavy haulage? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to support the planning and execution of complex transport operations, ensuring compliance with STGO regulations and delivering exceptional service to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and scheduling a cost-effective heavy haulage transport fleet.
- Prepare and submit STGO Category 3 route notifications, liaising with local authorities and structural owners to ensure safe and efficient routes.
- Coordinate with police forces to arrange cost-effective abnormal load escorts.
- Work closely with customers and internal teams to optimise fleet utilisation and reschedule work as needed.
- Brief and support heavy haulage and escort drivers, ensuring clear communication of job requirements.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance scheduling in coordination with workshops.
- Provide out-of-hours support on a rota basis for live projects.
- Maintain transport management system records and ensure compliance with health & safety standards.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in planning and scheduling a multi-vehicle fleet.
- Strong knowledge of abnormal load route notifications and STGO regulations.
- IT proficiency and experience with transport planning software.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- OLAT Training or Transport Manager CPC.
- Familiarity with technical drawings.
- GCSEs or equivalent in Maths & English.
