We are looking to recruit an SC Cleared Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer for a leading technology consultancy. This is a remote role with infrequent travel to London for team meetings.

You will work across complex cloud and on-premise environments that power critical systems and services. You will play a key hands-on role supporting, optimising, and evolving infrastructure platforms across Azure and hybrid estates - driving reliability, performance, and automation. Due to the nature of the project work, valid SC Clearance is essential.

The Role

  • Lead on incident resolution and major escalations, working to strict SLAs.
  • Provide hands-on technical support across Azure, private cloud, and on-prem environments.
  • Drive service improvements by identifying root causes and implementing permanent fixes.
  • Contribute to design, documentation, and standards to ensure stable, scalable operations.
  • Collaborate with project and operations teams to ensure seamless service handovers.
  • Champion best practice in automation, resilience, and cloud adoption.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Microsoft Azure - IaaS, PaaS, and Identity (Entra ID / Azure AD).
  • Strong on-premises infrastructure background (Windows Server 2012-2022, AD, DNS, DHCP, IIS, GPO, RDS).
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation with PowerShell.
  • Experience with virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V), SAN/Clustering, and backup technologies (Veeam, DPM, Commvault).
  • Exposure to Microsoft System Center, Office 365, and firewalling (Fortigate, Sophos).
  • Knowledge of compliance and security frameworks.
