We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Consultant to support the delivery of an enterprise-wide Data Ownership Model (DOM). This is an opportunity to play a key role in establishing robust data governance practices, embedding clear data ownership and improving the way data is managed and utilised across a complex public sector environment.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll collaborate with business stakeholders, digital teams and transformation programmes to help shape and embed effective data governance across the organisation.

The Role:

  • Supporting the identification, onboarding and enablement of Data Owner and Data Steward roles.
  • Facilitating conceptual data model workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Embedding data ownership principles across the data lifecycle to improve accountability and decision-making.
  • Supporting the development of a Data Governance Knowledge Hub, providing a central source of governance guidance, standards and best practice.
  • Strengthening collaboration between central data management functions and business teams to encourage consistent governance across the organisation.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the organisation's Data Ownership Model and wider governance framework.
  • Supporting change and adoption activities to ensure new governance practices are successfully embedded.

About You:

  • You’ll ideally have proven experience delivering Data Governance frameworks or Data Ownership/Data Stewardship models.
  • A strong understanding of the end-to-end data lifecycle.
  • Experience translating governance policies into operational processes.
  • The ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and driving adoption of new governance practices.
  • Previous Data Governance experience within a UK Central Government department.

Why Apply?
