Location: London - 4 days onsite / 1 day at home

We are looking to recruit an Ecommerce Merchandiser for a fast-growing online retail business on an initial 9 month fixed term contract. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in ecommerce merchandising, online trading, commercial analysis or digital retail who enjoys using data to improve sales performance, onsite conversion and customer engagement.

Working within the merchandising team, you will analyse product, deal and category performance to identify opportunities for growth. You will use data from previous campaigns, offers and onsite activity to understand what sells well, how deals should be structured, and how products should be positioned to maximise performance. You will work closely with sales, SEO and optimisation teams to ensure offers are commercially strong, aligned with customer demand and effectively presented onsite. The role requires someone who can interpret data quickly, communicate insights clearly and make confident recommendations in a fast-paced ecommerce environment.

This role would suit someone currently working as an Ecommerce Merchandiser, Online Trading Executive, Assistant Merchandiser, Junior Merchandiser, Ecommerce Trading Assistant or Ecommerce Analyst who is looking for a more commercial, data-led merchandising role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performance & Data Analysis
    • Analyse product, deal and category performance to identify opportunities to increase sales
    • Interpret ecommerce data to understand customer behaviour, conversion trends and trading performance
    • Provide ad-hoc analysis and turn findings into clear, actionable recommendations
    • Monitor onsite performance and identify risks or opportunities to improve conversion
    • Analyse successful deal structures and recommend how these can be replicated across the business
  • Commercial Strategy & Sales Support
    • Provide data-led direction to sales teams on gaps in the current offer
    • Recommend pricing, positioning and promotional strategies for online deals
    • Support sales teams with target lists for new products, categories and business opportunities
    • Conduct competitor analysis and identify trends, gaps and commercial opportunities
    • Present findings clearly to stakeholders across sales, merchandising and management
  • Market & Category Growth
    • Identify product and category opportunities based on market trends, customer demand and performance data
    • Support growth across key markets, including ownership of specific market/category analysis where required
    • Align merchandising activity with seasonal campaigns and wider trading priorities
    • Ensure key products and offers are well represented onsite in line with demand and commercial targets
  • Onsite & Customer Experience Optimisation
    • Ensure products are presented effectively onsite to maximise visibility, search relevance and conversion
    • Work closely with SEO and optimisation teams to align product availability with trending search terms
    • Identify issues across the customer journey that may impact conversion or trading performance
    • Support ongoing improvements to onsite merchandising, product positioning and promotional activity
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in ecommerce merchandising, online trading, digital retail, commercial analysis or a similar role
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence analysing data sets
  • Ability to interpret trading data and turn insight into clear commercial actions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly
  • Commercial mindset and confidence working with sales or trading teams
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask and respond to ad-hoc requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to improving performance
  • Experience with tools such as SQL or Power BI
  • Experience working with SEO, onsite optimisation or digital marketing teams
  • Exposure to multi-market, marketplace or international ecommerce environments
  • Experience supporting category, product or market growth initiatives
